Megan and Andy are basically a power couple. Andy is a civil engineer and Megan is a Labor and Delivery nurse and in graduate school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. (Andy even gets to use drones to examine the effects of erosion on huge tracts of land. That sound like funs, but Megan’s job would probably render me passed out in a corner!) Megan’s drive and determination is one of her many admirable attributes and Andy loves that about her. “Once she sets her mind to something, she’s determined to finished.” Likewise, Megan admires how Andy is always calm and thoughtful. It takes a lot to rattle Andy. The pair complement each other and can rest easy in one another’s relaxed personalities.
The two’s busy lives have prevented much wedding planning, but they enjoyed an engagement party thrown by Megan’s mom. Andy offers some advice for newlyweds, “if someone is nice enough to throw you a party, ask them to throw it somewhere other than your own home. You’ll get tired and can’t leave the party!” Megan has started looking at dresses and likes thinking about what silhouette will look best on her petite frame. “When you’re short, some dresses make you look like a cupcake!” Andy thinks picking a band will be the most fun part of planning the reception and the two plan on gladly accepting help from all their friends and family ready to jump in once a date is set with the church. Hurray for delegation!
Megan and Andy have been dating for 7 years- wow! The two met on St. Patrick’s day during overlapping spring breaks. Megan was friends with one of Andy’s friends and joined their group for a night out on the town in historic Charleston. Andy remembers being immediately attracted, and Megan couldn’t help but smile at the handsome Clemson student.
Their first real date was a few weeks later at Copper River Grill in Seneca, SC. The two struck up a relationship and fell in love over boat rides on the intercostal waterway, walks with Andy’s pup, Emma, on the beaches of South Carolina, and ice cream dates after sunset. 6 years later, the two went for a sunset walk down King Street to the iconic Battery Park, White Point Garden. Megan, always the social butterfly, was trying to invite friends to join the pair for dinner and Andy was trying to politely tell Megan her friends were NOT invited this time! The even ran into a friend on the Battery and Andy had to throw some serious signals! Still, Megan was totally surprised when she sat on a park bench and Andy got down on one knee. The two had a table waiting on them at Coast and then went to Rarebit afterward for a celebratory cocktail.
Megan and Andy are planning to wed in 2018, when they’ll be able to take a honeymoon right after the wedding. The pair are considering Alaska for a dramatic change of scenery! If you have any suggestions for Megan and Andy’s honeymoon, leave them in the comments!
I can’t thank Megan and Andy enough for bringing me down to Charleston and giving me the opportunity to shoot such a gorgeous couple in such a beautiful city. It was truly a bucket list, dream shoot for me, and I’ll never forget it!
I can’t wait for their wedding and know that, big or small, far-flung or local, it will be a beautiful exchange of vows and start to a long and happy marriage. Congratulations you two! God bless, be well, and do good!
