I know I am not alone when I say, delivering session images is a bit nerve racking… always exciting but also a little anxiety inducing! It’s such a huge honor when someone chooses to invest in my photography services and I always want to exceed clients’ expectations. I want them to love how they look and the moments that were captured. I want them to squeal a little bit! I want future generations to say, “Grandma, you were a fox!” So when I hit that “publish” button, I can’t help but hold my breath for a minute.
“I LOVE THEM!” And cue my sigh of relief! I loved them too, but my soul rejoices when I hear those three little words of validation and thank the big guy. (I always pray on the way to our sessions that He help me make some beautiful images.)
So I guess what I’m saying is THANK YOU to all my beautiful models and clients who share the love in emails, in person, and on social media to build me up and let me know I’m on the right track! You’re kind words mean more to me than you’ll ever know!!!
Fina’s pictures were some of my favorites from the past year but it still felt good to hear her say she loved them too! (Then again, about every time I do a session, it becomes my new favorite! Ha! I’m so lucky to have the coolest clients- they make this job SO FUN.)
I loved how these turned out. The snow just reflected the light beautifully and, of course, Fina’s gorgeous. She’s the kinda gal that is beautiful on the inside; strong, determined, smart, kind, and funny- so naturally that radiates out!
One of Fina’s best characteristics is that she’s a builder. That’s what I call people who are encouragers- they build other people up. They lead by supporting others and call them out to do better by setting example. A builder never passes up an opportunity to give a figurative high five when it’s deserved. A builder celebrates successes as a team and never hogs the glory. We need more builders in this world, and I’m happy to know that Fina will go to St. Bonaventure this fall to hone that skill and carry it into her future careers and relationships.
I know I said it before, but again, I just want to thank Fina and her beautiful family for sharing their lives with me this year. It’s been my honor as a friend and as a photographer. Our other projects have pushed me farther and have allowed me to serve a ministry beyond just taking pictures. Your family will always have a special place in my heart.
Congratulations to Fina for this milestone and best wishes as you take on the world! Don’t forget us little people back in WV!
